This last week, starting Tuesday, I have worked out everyday. The four required work outs Tuesday through Friday and then also on Saturday and Sunday. Monday is rest. Wow…. But why do I do this? Why do I punish myself like this? I’m still hurting, and I’ve got to go back to it tomorrow. ha. In 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 it says:
“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.”
So THAT is why I and many other DLA’s (the students here at DLA, pronounced DeeLa’s) go the extra mile. We are beating our bodies into submission so that we may win the race. So that we may not be disqualified to win the prize. So that we can look at ourselves and know that we have made our body our slaves, to better run this race.
Sore,
Morgan
