Tall Dudes Can Blog Too!

Starting a blog is something I’ve thought about doing for a while now, I just never have. I have thoughts and …. and.. um…. thoughts that I have wanted to share in some way. This seems like a pretty good way to do such a thing. There is also that thing about me leaving in a month. huh. About that…

So I’m going to start this extraordinary adventure in January. Let me e’splain. No there is no time. Let me sum up.  I’m going to be attending Desperation Leadership Academy (DLA) starting January 9th, a leadership school that is run through New Life Church in Colorado Springs, CO. This 8 month program will be the start of an amazing new chapter in my life. I will go on a mission trip to Mexico, help out with the youth programs in the church and many many other things that will both help draw me closer to God and allow me to learn who I am. My expectations are high, and my nerves are tight. I’m both nervous and excited. I’m ready to go, but have things to stay for. I’m ready to stop working, and ready to get to work.

Basically, I’m just super excited to start this journey.

So this blog will (hopefully) be consistently updated every Monday and I will possibly post random things on other days. This blog will be random but hopefully informative. I want to be able to keep my friends and family whom I will not be in contact with often updated on my status, what’s going on in my life and anything else I feel like sharing.

So there it is. My first blog post. Enjoy.

Wait….. It’s Saturday….. CRAP!!!!

Enjoy this, and by all means, don't take me too seriously. You'll just have to figure out when I'm being serious and when I'm not. haha. It's a game in itself.

The past few months have been a whirlwind for theSHIFT. Since I stopped blogging, everything has gone really well… not sure why I’m starting again. :) Last night was tons of fun. We packed the house with 28… +10 panelists that gave us insight into how to create great relationships and keep them. Questions ranged from how to keep Christ first to awkward momen […]

In the past several weeks, the prayer movement in Colorado Springs has made new steps forward in the form of the launching of two prayer rooms. One is in the World Prayer Center, running from 6 a.m. to midnight, facilitated by the college students of theFurnace. The other--with continual prayer meetings from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.--is located at Every Home for Chr […]

It has now been one week since I have returned home and DLA has really drifted across the country to its various origins. I am not going to lie it has been fairly more difficult leaving these friends...these family members, and knowing (whether I want to admit it or not) that I may never see many of these people again. Even the ones that I did not commune wi […]
